Cowan better wet than Firth

For all the hype, Firth's wet shirt scene never did anything for me (though everything else he did made me a fan!). But Eliot Cowan in the fountain-- wowee!!
If I were Amanda I would have made sure Darcy knew right then and there I was not a "maid!"

This is an emphatic YES!!!!!!!

How hot was he?!?!? But then, even without the wet shirt, I still thought EC's Darcy gave CF's Darcy a big run for the money!!!!

Giddyup!!

Yes, someone else has finally come near to closing in Colin Firth's monopoly on Darcy. (Sorry MM - you are beautiful but you are not Darcy.)

Omg I just watched this scene... I would not have been able to say a single thing, just ogle at him for eternity... goodness gracious me

I laughed so hard when I saw Elliot Cowan's profile pic!! He will certainly be getting a lot of attention now! He looked gorgeous in that wet shirt. Very funny.

The shirt is a lot more, uh, wet in this version.

I've just gone back and rewatched the Firth version on YouTube and I've obviously imagined a lot more Firth wet-shirtage than was actually shown in P&P

I never understood the hub-bub over Colin's wet shirt scene, but Cowan's... that one I get. I agree it's the amount of wetness that has made the difference and it seems to last longer.

And it was filmed in November, in 7°C cold water !!! What a brave man, what a great Darcy !!!

You are the one I love , with all my heart.

Firth's wet shirt scene was a waste of water!

Elliot Cowan as Darcy rising from the water has officially become the wallpaper of my computer. Great way to start my day...
