Will we see a second one before Rises?

While Batman Gotham Knight didn't bridge Batman Begins and The Dark Knight in a way that I had hoped I did enjoy at least the subtle nods to both Begins (The Narrows and Scarecrow) and Dark Knight (Ramerez). Aside from that it was an interesting story all together, I loved all six stories and the music and hearing Conroy in the role yet again.

Does anyone think or does anyone have any news on a second Gotham Knight that would be put out by DC before The Dark Knight Rises comes out? I heard that it made a decent amount of money for WB and since we're getting Emerald Knights it's evident DC aren't opposed to do doing more in the same vein.

Batman Gotham Knight the novel does bridge both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight perfectly so in terms of cannon and continuity I would suggest you read the novel instead. Scarecrow looks like he does in both movies and not the way they animated him in the Gotham Knight animated movie. Ra's Al Ghul, Rachel Dawes, and a bunch of other Batman Begins incidents are mentioned and referenced.

I really do hope they make something similar to this between The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises but only if it makes sense to do so. Don't forget Gotham Knight takes place during the six months before The Dark Knight that were missing and not told in The Dark Knight so this is why Gotham Knight was meant to bridge the missing gaps.

The new story doesn't have to be like this with a huge gap but it has to make sense and the story has to add to something.

I hope so, and I also hope that it would be much more inline with the movies. I loved Gotham Knight, but I couldn't enjoy it as a bridge between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight because it just felt too distant from those movies. If another Gotham Knight is made, I hope it really ties up the loose ends and paths the way for The Dark Knight Rises. I'm hoping that the segments could increased in length to 30 minutes or more, and could each feel like standalone episodes.

One segment could show Batman's escape from the cops minutes after the end of The Dark Knight. Another episode could wrap up the Joker's story (I say the Joker escapes shortly after The Dark Knight and we have a classic Batman vs the Joker episode, which ends in the Joker's death). In one are more segments, Batman could encounter villains like Penguin, Riddler, and Zsasz. All throughout these episodes, we Gotham City's increasing distrust of Batman after Joker's rampage and Harvey Dent's death, Bruce Wayne coping with the loss of Rachel, what became of Bruce's and Lucius Fox's alliance, and we see the reconstruction of Wayne Manor throughout each segment, including getting peeks of the new Batcave.

Now THAT would be cool. Except for Joker dying. Just have him officially locked up in Arkham with maximum security on watch 24/7.

Fair enough. But I'd still want to see a good ol'fashioned Batman and Joker segment. It would be a nice throwback to Batman: the Animated Series, but set in the Nolan universe instead. Maybe even directly remake a classic Batman vs Joker episode from Batman: the Animated Series and see how the story is similar and dissimilar with Nolan's realistic Batman and punk-rock-druggie-psycho Joker.

I think we will get one. It got a good critical response, and sold over 390'000 units on DVD. For an animated Batman movie that's good.

Right now it looks like Frank Miller & Klaus Janson's The Dark Knight Returns might be adapted as an animated tie-in to The Dark Knight Rises. I'm still waiting for confirmation of this, though. The only 2012 animated DC Universe movie that has been confirmed so far is Justice League: Doom, adapted from the "Tower of Babel" story-arc featuring Ra's al Ghul.

That's good news. That would make for a much better movie. I hope it's done in the tone of MOTP and UTRH.

I was also hoping for another Gotham Knight to bridge the second and third films in the Nolan trilogy, but c'est la guerre.

For me, Batman: Year One and the two-part The Dark Knight Returns infinitely make up for this.

I like this a lot.

I would've liked another series of anime inspired Batman movies.
