Anyone upset that Conroy didnt try to sound like Bale?

Anyone Disapointed that Conroy used his regular Batman TAS voice instead of attempting to sound like Bale especially when Batman talked? I dont know about you but im used to Bales deep scratchy type of voice as Batman and when Conroy used the regular Batman voice i was a little disapointed. I got used to it and didnt mind it afterwards cause its CONROY but it did bother me and i was wondering if it bothered anyone else.

To me this doesnt at all feel like it has anything to do with the Nolan series besides the characters, maybe they just said it was to get more sales.

I prefer Conroy's voice over Bales, Conroy just.....is Batman, and he has more range with his voice than Bale does.

I like Bales voice (though a lot dont)but hes no Conroy in my opinion.

Bales voice is like a shot of tequila, Conroy is like a smooth rum.

Yes, nobody can say it better than Conroy:

I am Vengeance!
I am the Night!
I AM BATMAN!!!

word....whenever i read the comicbook i hear conroy's voice in my head

reply

*beep* Bale, when it comes to animation...Conroy is Batman.

I don't mind Bale's voice, although I didn't particularly like it.

I grew up watching TAS, and although I haven't seen Gotham Knights (I plan to watch it with a friend this week) I was very happy to find out Conroy had did it.

I think it would have bothered me if he HAD tried to sound Bale.

Just trying to imagine Bale saying that makes me giggle.

No I'm not, and this is probably the dumbest complaint. Conroy IS Batman. Bales is NOT. His awesome voice will always be Batman, Bales was just chosen because he's a famous face, but he's not Batman, and he never will be. I will never watch Batman again if Kevin Conroy tried to emulate a pathetic imitator like Bales.

reply

Actually they are both Batman...

Conroy has been Batman longer than Bale and the two projects are mutually exclusive. There's no reason why Conroy would need to change, especially if there wasn't anything wrong with what he had been doing since 1992.

Don't disillusion my contempt. It's all I have left.

obviously the OP didnt grow up watching TAS or else he'd have known better than to post this. while i really like Begins, TDK and Bale's batman. conroy is the best. advice to the OP... go watch TAS and you'll see what we all mean.

Yes because it felt like the cartoon Batman with Conroy's voice, and it was supposed to be a movie that bridged the gap between the two Nolan movies. Conroy's voice is too distinctive that I associate it with the cartoon.

reply

I'm not bothered simply because it wasn't treated as canon. It was supposed to bridge BB and TDK, but really, nothing in GK is consequential to the movies. I might be more bothered if it were relevant to the films. I think a lot of people complaining about the OP's question kinda missed the point- it's a huge inconsistency if you consider it canon.

I don't mind Bale as Batman. Even with the growly lung cancer voice. In fact he's my favorite live action Batman. But I'd rather have Batman himself as Batman than Bale.

I'm glad he didn't imitate Bale. Bale's "I ran five miles before recording" Batman voice is irritating.
