Kurzweil is the new God and Singularity the new religion

There are some people for whom Kurzweil really is if not God then Abraham who's seen the promised land, a prophet who'd get them to the lands of plenty.

I don't see Ray that way but you can't deny his "law of accelerated returns" is holding. I'm not a specialist in this area but if it was not, people would already be up in arms about it. At the moment mostly criticism has been directed towards the fact that this "law" might not go on as long as Kurzweil suggests and the fact that he hasn't been that good at predicting (and accusing Ray at making his predictions too vague, so when the time is up they can be interpreted in any way Ray wants). Some point out the problem of Ray's obsession with raising the dead (his father), taking tons of pills to try to become immortal living until such time when aging can be stopped and reversed, and his fetish of possibly having sex with his own created cyborgs in future :D

Many great minds have been at least a bit crazy and I'm not saying Ray isn't one of them. There's definitely some loose wires in his brain, but the fact that nobody is attacking the info on his charts proves that at least for now the law of accelerated returns is holding and it might be true that what he says really comes true in 40- 50 or so years.
