So underrated, his performance in true romance as mentor is also one of my favorites :-)

totally agree. no matter what val does as an actor, he throws himself into the role and is consistently fantastic. love you, val!
What movie were you guys watching? Val was sleepwalking through the whole thing. He was phoning it in like he has been for the past decade of his career. He's just been coasting from one easy paycheck to the next these days. It's a real shame too, because he was a great actor and he had a lot of great roles in the 80's and 90's.
I honestly wonder what happened to him. Did his reputation for being difficult to work with rob him of his A-list status? Did he turn down one too many good roles and so people stopped offering? Maybe he pissed somebody off that he shouldn't have? Whatever the case is, his crappy career and his hilarious weight gain in recent years reminds me a lot of Fat Elvis.
He did a great job in this movie, a very underrated performance
