Skins + Speed Racer + The Batman (TV series) = A waste of TV licence ££

poo action more like!!!!!! An embarrassment to the UK. This strip should of been made as an anime like The Boondocks, for the Adult Swim audience. Jamie Hewlett strip's have never been translated well into live action, by other people. Jamie this is another Tank Girl nightmare, thank to the BBC.............. Hope you got payed well for some hacks to tear apart you're strip...

From what i've read Jamie was totally involved in this TV drama. He was on set the whole time, and helped make the adaptation. In other words he was in control.

I didn't think it was that bad. Could of done with being half hour instead of an hour though...

reply

Pity Jamie could'nt take his visions to live action and score a winner. And I'm not having any of this "half hour instead of an hour" feeble excuses for the BBC wasting my fee on crap. Good is good not matter what the run time is.... and crap is crap no matter what the run time is...
I hope it gets never gets picked up and goes down in TV history cult chasing flop marketing frankenstein, with loads shots of Jaime Winstone/Whitey Action legs akimbo in the pilot.

I think you could be right. I so wanted to enjoy it that i think i'm in denial...

I should face facts - it was disappointing

Breaking News!!!!! or not. Anyways the fool who is BBC3 controller Danny Cohen, only went and commissioned a full series, way before it ever miss hit our screens. I don't know much about TV but I thought you make a pilot and on the strength of that pilot, being a success you make more....... But despite Poo Action launching with disappointing ratings on Tuesday night and most peoples and critics view that it is crap. This Danny Cohen has spent my £££TV Licence £££ fee on crap. So the next time a truly talented, bold and innovative British idea comes to the BBC they will say sorry we spent our money on Poo Action. Cuz we thought it would be hip for the kids.... but they switch off in there droves. "who'd thunk it, Kids were media savvy? and could see though our wannbe cult TV frankenstein"

they've actually comissioned a series! where did you hear that?

anyway, lots of shows get comissioned before the pilot is broadcast (if it ever is broadcast at all).

Tank Girl is a guilty pleasure film for me.
Obviously as with Howard The Duck(even more of a guilty pleasure),both seem to miss the comic strips they were based on by a mile.

I have just seen Phoo action these last few minutes.
Its almost seems like a commitee meeting decission.

"What do these young scallywags like to watch.?" Or words to that effect.

Stuff that is a mish mash of already existing things usually ends up as b*llocks.
This has proved to be such a program,I have read on Digital Spy forum that Phoo action is getting a 6 episode series.

The "revamp" of BBC3 is not looking good.It hasn't completely changed, but what has is bad.

I love how people who get all shouty about it being kiddy and immature then go onto call it "Poo Action".

It just makes me smile.
