Shelley...

is Shelley, the Resident Tech, supposed to be like ... I don't wanna say a trigger, but every season she gets it in with one of the patients and is just really negative. Is she supposed to be that way or is it just her bitter personality? I'm just like ... so confused with her because esp in season 4 when she wanted Lief out and Dr. Drew wouldn't allow it she got pissed at them and then got it in with Frankie about deleting the numbers from her phone and then saying '*beep* you' when Frankie walked off.

Like ... lol Bob is so down to earth and she's the bitter recover..er.

Yeah, Bob is pretty chill and laid-back. He kind of annoys me. I keep wanting to see him get a little fired up because he's only human. You can see he cares about the addicts and tries to convince them to stay throughout treatment. I like when the addicts try to say one thing to try getting out of their responsibilities and he slams it down with some wisdom. His approach works.

Shelley on the other hand, lets the addicts get to her. A lot. In the beginning it was the little snippy side remarks. Like the addicts didn't deserve to be at the Pasadena center... or even breathing the same air as she. She seemed to know how they would progress without having met them. That's true with some people. They can tell if a person is going to take rehab and sobriety seriously but Shelley seemed like she was a psychic. As far as her personality? I think her attitude is a result from long drug use. Maybe she was already sarcastic to begin with but drug use made her appearance look harsh.

This is just my observation, though.

Shelley has WAY too much responsibility, in my opinion. Why is she running groups and taking a counselor position when she is merely a tech? She does more harm then good and has her own issues, obviously, as you mentioned. Every time she speaks, she grates on my nerves beyond belief. I would not respect her a bit if I were in that facility and she was bragging about her clean time and acting like she knows all about addiction when she is JUST a TECH! Get a degree along with your years of clean time, Shelley, and then maybe you will have a clue about how to work effectively with addicts.

PS ... I have 16 years clean myself, and have been a licensed substance abuse counselor with a Masters in Social Work since 2006. So I am not just talking out the side of my neck, nor am I bragging. Just stating where I come from with my opinion.

I think she has toned down in later years. Early in season 1 she was portrayed as the bad cop and Drew the good cop. There was a group meeting that season to discuss her specifically cause she was too verbally aggressive or something.

Considering what she puts up with, Shelley is s saint! I like her tough-love approach and the fact she doesn't coddle the addicts.

"This is a faithful saying...Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief."

I dont care why she's there, I just think Shelley is HOT!

Shelly's cool and so eager to please the addicts.

Shelley seems to be a dry drunk. I had never heard of Bob Forrest before this show, but he actually seems to have a contented sobriety, at least on the seasons I've seen.

Though I did like it when Shelley picked up the phone (it was Lohan's girlfriend) and told her "he's not available", then hung up the phone and said "*Beep* these people!"
