Let’s see…

Lizzie McGuire TM; A cute, but unremarkable adaptation of the Lizzie McGuire series. It was practically like watching a full-length episode of Lizzie McGuire and one should definitively have seen the show to watch the film. Otherwise, while it wasn’t as good as the series, it was watchable and cute enough. But not particularly memorable. Hilary Duff was absolutely gorgeous and I loved Matt’s screen time. While the main plot was somewhat odd and didn’t had a clearly reference to the series, it did had a surprising and refreshing twist at the end. And the “What Dreams Are Made Of” song was catchy and shows that Hilary has charisma on stage.

Hannah Montana TM: undoubtedly one of the weirdest movies I’ve ever seen. Many things were done right, but many things were done extremely wrong. It seems like the director wasn’t certain about what his movie was going to be and throwed in elements for everyone, without making a cohesive movie. Many scenes were done quite decently, but the constantly awful slapstick comedy ruined always had to ruin them. And the worst part was; Oswald! If they were going to give Hannah/Miley an antagonist, why couldn’t they give her one that wasn’t that awkward? Oswald was so stupid that I wanted to cringe! And if they didn’t wanted to include all of the scenes of Jackson’s subplot, why didn’t delete his entire subplot?

That being said, I did enjoy the more mature scenes, the acting, the energetic sequences and most of the songs. The chemistry between the lovebirds was nice. However, there were too many subplots and an extremely lousy script. The fact that neither Travis nor Lorelai could realize that Miley was Hannah was extremely cringe worthy. While the film overall lacked the great, witty lines from the show, it became extremely dull and boring at the third act of the movie. The slow-motion scenes were also extremely annoying. And the ending; don’t even get me started. It was the most retarded ending that I’ve ever seen.

I really wanted to like HMTM, since it did have many good scenes. Unlike Lizzie McGuire, you don’t need to see the show before watching the movie. But it was extremely flawed. So I must pick LMTM.

And OP: Exactly why do you think the HM was better? No offence, but I would like to hear an explanation.
