Did they originally plan to end with the film, but changed their minds?

Like... the film is a nice film. It's just the ending seems really off, like if Miley decides to not be Hannah in the series, it'll be an anticlimax because the whole of Tennessee already knows. I'm just wondering if Disney saw pounds signs and decided to bank on Miley and do another series instead of just ending with the film? I think it would've been a great moment for them to end it there.

Good question. The reason why this film was being made, is because that Disney wanted to milk the Hannah product for what is was worth, which is really what Hannah Montana is all about. I read a interview with Miley that she stated that the film wasn't intended to end the show, although it wasn't certain if the show would have a fourth season.

But I think the ending is just a main proof of how awfully written this film is. In logical terms, yes, it would have been practical to end the series with the movie, so if they actually had to make a movie, they could at least hire better writers, to write a ending that makes sense and not conveying a hypocritical, superficial message. The film is trying to convey the message about the importance about being true to your roots, family and the film was leading up to the climax where Miley was forced to choose between the two worlds - until it suddenly changes it's message and Miley's being forced to choose Hannah just to please her fans. What kind of message is that?

That horrible ending just proves how incredibly wasted this film is. Along with the stupid plot, dumb humor, predictable love story and horrible songs, makes this film the worst one ever made (at least in my opinion).

Your thread should have been like this; "the film is not a nice film and the message is really off and showed how retarded and hypocritical the film is".
