Tax Man

Strange that they didn't really mention this song, considering it's one of his most prominent Beatles tunes, and probably his best early tune.

reply

it was very prominently mentioned early in the film

reply

No it is not. There is one instance where someone says Grorge hates paying taxes later in the film. The song is virtually ignored.

reply

Terry Gilliam told a funny anecdote about Taxman.
They didn't really need to play it.

Taxman was perhaps the first song I rocked-out to as a little kid in the late 60s (we went nuts for the guitar solo) and I was transfixed by both the bizarre Klaus Voormann album cover and the eclectic mix of songs contained within. Here I'm proudly clutching the Revolver album back then... https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2758/4031956023_5373115943.jpg.
Also the Batman TV show ('66-'68) was popular and we'd always jump around to the opening theme "da-da-da-da-da-Batman!" And my dad always went to work wearing a hat, so we called him "Hat Man". Taxman/Batman/Hatman a fond memory, but it was so cool. Thanks George for kicking that off ;-)
