July 19th, 2021: according to Deadline Lionsgate has acquired worldwide rights to Kevin Smith's Clerks III, which is in pre-production in New Jersey and will begin production next month.

I’m excited but Smith has a tall hill to climb to me. I love Clerks and while Clerks 2 is way more goofy, it’s pretty great and ended beautifully. Unneeded sequel to me.

I LIKE HOW CLERKS 2 SHOWS US THE SAME CHARACTERS BUT FURTHER ON IN LIFE..OLDER AND SLIGHTLY WISER...IT IS THAT SAME NOTION THAT HAS ME EXCITED FOR THE SEQUEL...CHECKING IN WITH MY FAVORITE CLERKS SO MANY YEARS DOWN THE LINE.

We just found out they are going to be staging out of one of the local middle schools here. In addition to using it for prop and equipment storage and cast meetings, their caterers will actually be using the school cafeteria facilities. I can't help but laugh at this.

I'm curious, but not really excited for it at all. Kevin hasn't made anything good since 2006, imo.
