Take it easy and have some respect

First, I liked the chemistry between them very very much
I missed Banderas real on screen I mean you can feel that he got his style back
so what it's an ordinary movie who is been made for the trillion time, I don't care I missed those kind of movies I just love hollywood
plus obviously there's a reason why it's being made every once and a while
so you just need to get yourself in the right mood and really appreciate what is being given to you of not only history and legacy
but taste of two whole crisp air type personalities.
And do as I did about the age andthe sex material things, Ignore them or even better enjoy them.

russians always make such stupid movies
don't be surprised

reply

LOL...What the heck it has to do with Russians? Well..if you meant Morgan Freeman)))))))

reply

Morgan Freeman is always great. Banderas was good too but his role sort of gave me the impression that it would've have fitted someone younger?

It's an ok popcorn flick.

reply

I agree he could really have been a much younger character, but it worked out very well IMO

Well thats my 2 cents worth

reply

I also enjoyed the movie. Of course this is not Ocean's Eleven but they didn't have their budget either. All in all a good heist movie with some plot holes (but which movie doesn't?) and some unnecessary scenes... I gave it a fair 7.

reply

I had a different take on Banderas's character. I don't think he was meant to be the wisecracking younger partner in a buddy movie. I saw him as competent but self-mocking, still at the height of his abilities but aware that he's starting to hit the downslope. (Banderas was 49 when the film was made, though his character looks considerably younger.) His performance, to me, was the high point of a generally enjoyable but lightweight film.

reply

I agree, i thought they worked well together and it is just a movie. Go Morgan and Antonio. Bring it on.

reply

Respect? The movie was nothing more than a ripoff of other heist movies, except the only heist was against the audience. I knew from the start that Banderas was a cop. I knew Freeman did not kill his partner. I knew the girl knew. In fact, the only surprise was that I actually watched the entire thing. If anything, it's a chick flick for those cougar aged women who think Banderas is "hot". He was looking pretty old and worn out in this film, and Freeman has never seen a role he doesn't like. He's the same person in every film, just has a different name, even from the days that he drove Mrs Daisy.

So no, no respect for any of these ass clowns.

reply

Get a grip!
It's just a movie. Either you like it or you don't. But to critique the movie like you are getting paid for it or better yet, an actor yourself makes no sense.
Every other movie is a "ripoff of other movies" Do you have a clue about how many scripts are floating around?
So what, you figured out the movie. Will there ever be a movie that no-one figures out?? Who knows.
Who Bandaras appeals to is only your opinion. Unless you did a census on all the women in the world, you have no idea who he appeals to.
You also don't know enough about Morgan Freeman's personal life to know what movies he has turned down. You only know about the ones he has worked on. Thank goodness everyone doesn't feel this way about Mr. Freemans acting abilities. Bloggers make me sick! They think they know everything about everybody and can judge people at will based on a snapshot of information. Endoy the movie for what it is and move on. If the movies are not turning you on, get another hobbie.

reply

bravo!

reply

Really? Respect? This movie was awful. Finding what they did right would be infinitely easier than detailing what went wrong. For the love of whatever you hold dear they couldn't be bothered to take the glare off of Antonio's nose. You would think lighting, makeup, editing, or even someone actually looking at a monitor would pick something so simple like that up.

The rest of the movie is as bad or worse in every aspect. No respect for sloppy work simply to put something on film. I only watched it all because I was cuddling my little one that didn't feel well and couldn't reach the remote after the first 20 minutes.

Revolutionary Road was the real Best Picture!
