I don't get NEW YEAR'S

Sorry for whining but I really didn't get it. I mean, how come the boy is there in her room? And how did he get bit?

Though I like the cast, Cory Monteith and that girl from Step Up :)

I didn't either. James was the jerk-off boyfriend who cheated on his girlfriend with the chick in the red dress. The guy friend in the white was already bitten. James shot the girl in black, and I don't know why. The guy in white infected James and somehow the girl in black was already a zombie. How did she become a zombie between leaving the house and getting shot in the other girl's apartment, when she wasn't even bitten? It's not worth watching a second time though that car-jacker at the beginning got his when he got bit by the girl who fell into the elevator.

They drove by the chemical plant where there was "the accident" that created the zombies in the first place. Remember when they get to the bar - and they say that they were hung up in traffic because of the spill and then it's referenced on the new broadcast later? However - I'm as clueless as anyone about the kid. Unless her roommate - who was already infected - saw it as a "side effect" of the zombie infection. Who knows.

Sorry for the late reply, but here's what I got from it:

The boy is the child of a neighbor (he's there in the flashback before the two main character leave for the party, too), and gets infected with the rest of the tenants while Helen and her roommate are at the party.

Helen is infected on the way to the party, not by getting bitten, but by breathing in the air. She's still normal when she sees her boyfriend making out with her friend, and kills herself with sleeping pills. However, because she is already infected, the sleeping pills that she takes to kill herself don't keep her dead for long. So, this is why she is a zombie without having to get bitten first.

Ooohh.. so that's why. I now feel dumb for not getting the story. Lol. Anyway, how many times did you watch that episode to get that? I think I'm going to need to it again to better understand the story!

The dead came back to life so the moment she committed suicide she became a zombie. The spider in the flash back was dead and moments later it was alive again.

it only takes one time if you are paying attention. Like obviously the spider is infected merely be being in the town nearby the accident. In the flash back you see the spider is dead and in the present time, it's walking around. It was to show you that any dead can be reanimated, foreshadowing the end when you discover the girl was a zombie the whole time. Her b!+@h friend was on the phone with her, but the line kept breaking up, so that's why she didn't know the leading lady was a zombie until she got to the crush's apartment, in the end.

The whole story was from the perspective of a zombie who is unaware that she is a zombie the whole time. Like she thinks she is talking to people, but she is just growling and snarling like other zombies.

So then you wonder what her roommate is saying to her in his head the whole time, "hey hun, come on, don't be mad, you know we belong together, I'm just going to hang around you until you can live with that. muah"

If it was better directed, and acted, this could have been a great zombie film. too bad, it's just mediocre the way it is.

i was soo getting the same idea about the girls roommate. kind of showed itself because how he was always there no matter where she went.
