Why did the guy lose his farm at the end?

Great doc film, but why did the guy lose his farm at the end? It wasn't explained at all - did he sell up because he was retiring, or did he go broke, or get foreclosed?

The other irritating thing was that we were never given the final dollar value for what they were paid for their acre of corn - we heard they 'lost', but that govt subsidies would give them a very good profit, but they failed to tell us just what that profit was! It sounded like cash for old rope, so it made it more annoying for us not to be told why Chuck Pyatt lost/gave up his farm!

Apart from that, an excellent story well told

My guess is he decided to retire, and move out of Greene. The film earlier talked about razing older houses that were interfering with the thousands of acres of farmland, so my guess is the house would be razed so the land would be part of yet another gigantic cornfield.

Dude means nice guy. Dude means a regular sort of person.

Their government subsidy was 28 dollars. It wasn't exactly a healthy profit but it pushed them in the black by like $6.

I just watched and enjoyed King Corn. The narration actually mentioned subsidy money that they had not heard of before raising their crop, so it was more than the original 28 bucks. Again, they never revealed the end amount.
