No disrespect to Bernie or Isaac... But since SOO many people claimed The Dark Knight's success was unfairly catapulted by the tragic passing of one of it's stars before the movie was released.. With the loss of TWO great talents.. why didn't this movie do more than a modest $5.6M? Were those people actually WRONG about Batman?!?
sharewell the bottom line is that the dark knight was anticipated soooo long before it came out that it was going to make a smashing at the box office REGARDLESS of ledgers death. i knew a group of people who were dying for the movie to come out LONG ago, knowing every little thing about the film that they would release into the media like the instant ledger dressed up as joker was leaked, they knew about it and so on and so forth. this movie was a long time comin and ledgers death just added fuel to the fire.
