Ending reminded me of Ray Liotta movie Phoenix

Phoenix, a great and under appreciated heist movie from the late 90's, ends
SPOILERS


with a gut shot Ray Liotta riding off in a car and presumably bleeding to death, the same as in this movie.

Also in Phoenix, right before he dies but after he has been shot and knows he is mortally wounded, he sends a chunk of money to his girlfriend and her daughter same as in this movie.

I really like both movies and Liotta is one of my favorite actors. I couldn't help but notice this weird coincidence.

P.S.
The final moments of The Line were so great that it redeemed a lot of the issues I had with the rest of the film. I practically get choked up when the murdered woman tells Liotta to "Rest" to the tune of that Red House Painters song.
