UK/European release?

Does anyone know if/when Balibo is going to be released in the UK or across Europe? I met Robert Connolly in Helsinki in June when he previewed the film at the International Press Institute's World Congress, and there he mentioned possibility of it showing at Venice, but I haven't seen any mention of it.

Many people assume that because the journalists were all based in Australia, they were all Australian, but this is not the case (Peters and Rennie were both British and Cunningham was from New Zealand) and I think a British audience needs to realise that.

Any information would be grately appreciated as I have wanted to see this film since meeting Robert, Damon Gameau and Brian Peters'and Malcolm Rennie's families in Helsinki.

Liliputian, a UK and European release is definitely high on the producers' list and hopefully after the Toronto Film Fest there will be greater exposure. Balibo is also slated for the London FF in late October so fingers crossed for general release after that. Robert Connelly is indeed a lovely guy and he told my friends and I in Melbourne, after the world premiere, that getting overseas distribution is one of their biggest barriers, so with all the buzz and hype about the film lately things may be happening. We can only hope so, the film and the story deserve it.

A Portuguese release would also be justified, as East Timor still is and always will be a day-to-day subject of great interest and reflexion over here.

We loved the tv series "Answered by Fire", I think "Balibo" will have a great reception as well.
