It would have been interesting movie if he had taken some smoke to his lungs, but now it's just a waist of time. Well i did learn something about CA laws.
BTW, that big transparent bag that he "inhales" every morning doesn't seem to get much smaller. Even if he would have really bad lungs, he should be able to inhale it with two or three breaths. Kind of stupid to have that kind(you can estimate the size) of bag in the movie if you are going to fake.
Yea he definitely doesn't inhale through the entire movie. But I can't see why he would avoid inhaling in front of the camera. If I ever see him in person I'm going to call him out on it.
p.s. as an avid pot smoker i wish 4:20 would just go away. I think it's an overrated tradition.
I agree with the majority. I kept saying to my girlfriend, "but he isn't even inhaling the stuff", as we watched it last night. I've never seen anything so rediculous before.
Pot comic maybe, non pot smoker. It's like the writer of the show "Weeds", who doesn't smoke the stuff, and I'm pretty sure never has.

i smoke a lot and the first time I had a vapouriser, it took me a lot of tokes to clear it. I did notice a lot of the film he wasnt inhaling but then again I still enjoyed it. The comedy was good and overall it was a laugh

I hate stoners that treat pot the same way frat boys treat beer. Seriously, learn to have some fun, you losers. If there's anything pot isn't about, it's not about having a freaking competition all the time.
It's not about having a competition, but if you make a movie about being high 24/7, and you're the stoner of the year... I'd expect more of him.
I have some friends who smoke one little hit and get super high, good for them, wish I could, my wallet would be grateful. But this guy is faking, lying.
And it has nothing to do with not being able to smoke on camera. Other persons in the movie (as Sarah Silverman or the prince of weed) had no problems hitting some.
I can't be sure he inhaled in the movie. But I can be sure he has. If you see his standup he smokes on stage and will invite people to come up and smoke with him. So if you're standing right there you can be sure. You can't call him a "non-smoker"

shareSorry chinacreek, but your argument is pretty weak. What would Doug Benson have to gain by only pretending to inhale, while making this movie? I've seen lots of people inhale the drug, and there is not a specific set of actions that are obvious to know if one has actually inhaled. He also uses a vaporizer. Inhaling vapor is much easier than smoke.

All throughout the movie he stores the smoke in his cheeks then exhales immediately, without ever actually inhaling properly.
Im not saying he's not a real smoker, but maybe he wasn't allowed to actually smoke on camera. Who knows.
You don't need to smoke weed or tobacco yourself to notice that he looked like one of those non smoking actors.
Dude, not everybody smokes the exact same way. I have a buddy who hits the blunt the exact way Doug does. He takes in a huge hit in his mouth to the point that it puffs his cheeks out like a chipmunk, then he inhales it. It looks kinda funny (especially if you're stoned), but it's how he smokes.
And even IF Doug wasn't inhaling every time, he was still getting high. You could tell sometimes. Dude looked baked out of his skull on several occasions, especially the first day after his 30 days of not smoking.

Except when you inhale, you no longer have puffed out cheeks. Watching Benson, you can clearly see in many scenes that he is storing it in his mouth and holding his breath, not inhaling.

i don't know if any of you watch his youtube podcast/show getting doug with high but each show it's the same thing. he takes huge rips and never really takes a full hit. it's very annoying to watch this guy smokes. then all of his fans treat him like he is the top dog stoner.
I can totally understand where this comes from, I've watched this numerous times, and it's just a poorly shot, poorly edited scene when he takes his first rip from the vap (Also his first vap rip ever) and his acne-scarring/facial hair combo is also disconcerting in a close up, but that's another issue entirely. The background of when he finally exhales it is white in non-optimal brightness/contrast so we don't even see anything to contrast the whiteness of the smoke, and this is annoying simply because this is the big moment, the bit when he's supposed to be in weed heaven, but the way it's filmed, the anti-climatic nature of a vap (I think they should have just had him take a big fat bong hoot, much easier to film and would guarantee we'd see it.
I'm not even a big Doug Benson fan, he seems like one of those mediocre stand-up comedians who desperately clings at a gimmick like "pot-comic" in order to hide the fact there's not much else about his act. Stoners are very easy to market too, especially the ones who make weed their identity/signifier.
