I've never played this game....

I LOVED Marvel Alliance, X-Men Legends, the Spider-Man 2 video game, and the Ultimate Spider-Man video game.

Is Spider-Man: Friend or Foe like any of these? Those of you that liked it, did you also like any of the about marvel games?

It's a very kid friendly game and not really like any of the games above. It kind of reminds me of the side-scrolling games of yesteryear, because while you can move in any direction, you can't move once a fight has started and you'll move fine again after you defeat your opponents. It's not that hard, it's impossible to die (but the computer-played second character has a nasty habit of leaping to his/her doom over the edge of a pit after beating up villains with a mid-air combo attack and you lose your upgraded Combo Level that gets you more tokens from defeated foes), and the voice-over actors do excellent jobs with their work. Spider-Man is genuinely funny, as is the SHIELD Helicarrier's Computer, some of the villains like Doc Ock have some great comeback quips in response to Spidey's jokes and comments, and some of the characters have great combo attacks.

The only downsides that I can think of is that the fighting gets repetitive, the game can be a bit short with only 20 levels, Player 1 can only be Spider-Man and not a friend/foe sidekick, and Silver Sable can't be played on the PS2 version of the game.

I haven't played Ultimate Alliance, X-Men Legends or Ultimate Spider-Man yet, but I LOVE the Spider-Man 2 game. If you like Spider-Man 2, I think you'll like this game too.

I hope that helped answer your question.
