I've seen this lame pattern before in a movie

Work-obsessed hunchy woman gets lucky and is then made out somehow to be more important than she really is, starts taking over meetings with high up officials, etc etc.

Military subordinates not being immediately executed or at least removed from their post for following their own agenda.

And in the end, it looks like the sun was going to come up anyhow and fry the Troll (not sure how it did not fry him all the other days in between his awakening and his death), so I am not sure what the point was of anything else in the movie.
