Great movie until... Part 2 (Spoiler)

... the stand off on the bridge. Having seen the original I was fully expecting Ryder to jump on the track and execute himself on the live rail.
How many others thought the same?
The original ending was a perfect way to kill off the villain, today though it always has to end with a gun fight.

He was only shot so travalta could pull a funny 'I've just been shot, and it bloody hurts'face, and mutter the imortal final line....'your my god dam hero,man'....Couldn't say that while steaming and frizzing away glued to a power line could he?

reply

Ah yes those self indulgent lines... lol. Even more reason why he should have fried.

Hilarious!

What would be the point of doing the same ending again? While this isn't the best movie even of the month it was released, at least the filmmakers did the right thing of remaking it but putting a fresh spin.

Garber's decision to try to be a hero and carjack a truck at gunpoint and apprehend Ryder when he has no law enforcement background made zero sense and really took the movie down a few notches. Movies should have a level of internal coherence. When something is glaringly unrealistic it takes you out of the movie and causes you to reflect on the laziness of the screenwriter.
