The Pamchenko- real question

Does anyone know if this move and the name really exist in ice skating? maybe same move under a different name??
Anyone?

No, it doesn't exist. It's not possible. This was once discussed in great detail on the original "Cutting Edge" board. There's absolutely no way for any female skater to turn herself in mid air after being flung with such force angled in the opposite direction. The only way it would even be REMOTELY possible would be if he swung her STRAIGHT up, and from underneath at exactly the correct moment pushed her UP (like a log toss) and again, as made clear by the angles, at her highest point in the swing she was still swinging off and away, not straight up.

Part of it was a death spiral, but the rest of it was probably impossible from there, as starjk said.

At :53 in this video there's a death spiral similar to part of the Pamchenko

If she went straight up, her head would hit would hit the ice, unless he is holding her skates at at head-height.
If she goes out at an angle, which is possible, the force would move him in the opposite direction. Even so, he couldn't catch up to her - or catch her!
We don't expect much from these movies, but I was really disappointed when they brought this 'move' out again!
It's embarrassing, like the diving move that Rodney Dangerfield did in that 'back to college' movie, jumping from board to board to board. If you find that funny, it works. But if you don't - it REALLY doesn't work!
