During Mao's regime, Just before the Cultural Revolution this film was shown 1.8 Billion times to cinema audiences. They must have bloody loved it.
shareBecause it is a damn good film. If you can ignore the simplistic propaganda of it, artistically and in terms of entertainment, it's very good... especially for a Chinese film made in the mid-sixties.
