Just a personal opinion...

This movie was really annoying, it made little sense (at least to me) and all those editing crap made it almost unwatchable. Maybe it would be better to see it on DVD...

The worst is, it is described as a horror and was shown at Horror Festival, here in Poland, although it's definitely not a horror movie. It's a movie that wants to be Requiem for a Dream, but never gets even close to the masterpiece.

There are, however, some good aspects:

1. Cinematography was excellent (considering the budget) and Adam Wingard really made us forget that it wasn't professional. He should stop directing / writing and focus on his great camerawork.

2. Soundtrack was even better. Justin Leigh delivered here more than anyone would expect from someone being credited three times on imdb.

Taking this all into consideration I give it a 3.

That was just my personal opinion.

It's a ghost story, it's a vampire story, it's a love story, it's a drug story, it's a horror story. Labelling it simply "another Requiem for a Dream" is taking a simplistic view - the references to Kurosawa's Pulse and Nosferatu are undeniable.

Soundtrack was indeed fantastic; the band Liars are on it. Check them out (cue stolen quote from Garden State)

The cinema I saw it in was perfect; the screen was very close to ground-level and sitting in the front row this film was almost overpowering in its hypnotic beauty. Purely original and something to be applauded. Seriously looking forward to the dvd.

Why does everybody feel the need to compare ANY movie about drugs to Requiem for a Dream?
Requiem for a Dream was quite possibly the single most overrated movie I can think of off the top of my head -- right up there with Fight Club.
