How did this end?

After she got off the phone with the vet, she put the poison in Binky's dish, mixing it with his food and he wouldn't eat it. So she went in to cupboard and opened some chocolate frosting and Binky ate it. The mother psychotically called Lily and told her that Binky must have gotten into the trash and ate the other half of the frosting that she threw away and that she had to come home immediately. Larry called his friend who was a vet and sent him over to Lily's house to take care of the dog and he did and he was fine. Lily found it a little suspicious that things would "just happen" whenever she was out with Larry, she searched the cabinets and stuff when she got him and found out her mother baked nothing, but found the frosting container in the garbage. She went upstairs and looked at her photo album and found a picture of Michael and called him and she met up with him to talk. She finds out that her mother did have something to do with them breaking up... it wasn't another girl. He told Lily that her mother must have hired two guys to threaten him and beat him up and they told him to break it off completely with Lily or they would kill him and his family. Lily got so angry that she went home and packed her stuff and as she was leaving, the mother walks in and asks what she's doing and where she's going, Lily confronts her about what happened to Michael and the mother admits to it and Lily leaves and says she's staying with Larry and takes Binky with her. The mother freaks and calls Lily on her cell phone and Lily doesn't answer and the mother freaks out even more... goes to the bathroom, puts all her 50,000 pills in a bag and goes to her office and gets a gun out of the drawer and mumbles something up to the fact of... you took my baby away from me and now you'll pay. She shows up at Larry's house and they finally let her in and the mother freaks and says that Lily is coming home with her and she's not leaving without Lily... Lily says no and the mother pulls out the guy and they try to reason with her... Larry gets the gun away from her and they notice that the safety is on the gun... the mother freaks again and runs and locks herself in the bathroom. She starts ranting about how she's going to be all alone and that no one loves her, etc. and she shakes the pill bottle and starts to take each of the pills one by one. Lily freaks and tells her to stop and Larry breaks down the door. Lily goes and hugs her mom and tells her that she loves her and everything and that they are going to get her some help. The next scene flashes to 8 months later and Lily is visiting her mom in the hospital and asks how she's doing and her mom tells her that she's feeling better and that the doctor said that she should be free to go in another few months. Lily tells her that she got a promotion at work and that she's staying in Philly so she can visit her. The last scene is Lilly walking out of the hospital and Larry is waiting for her and they walk hand and hand (out to the car I guess) they stop the movie while they are walking. It was an amazing movie... I was terrified of that mother... she was a nutcase.
