I Still Know What You Did Last Summer

Doesn't this plot sound awfully familiar?

reply

ya, the whole stranded on an island together and being stalked by a killer. It kind of sounds like a bored teenager who just watched that movie made up a new name and put it on here.

stranded on an island chased by a killer who wants revenge for something they did. its a blatant "I Still Know..." rip off.

An island off of Vancouver is hardly the Bahamas. And from what I've heard this is more of a thriller then a slasher, so there's a possibility that these are going to be very different films.

hmm yeah these two movie have nothing in common

reply

My thoughts exactly.....Hollywood is really running out of ideas these days. pathetic

reply

The second I read the plot I was like that is definitely like the plot for I Still Know What You Did Last Summer!! That's why it is so sad that there aren't many original ideas in Hollywood anymore.

You're just a wet blanket on my fire of fun!!

This wasn't a hollywood production, it was an indie Canadian production, apparently.

So yeah, unoriginal, but don't blame Hollywood. Hollywood came up with the original idea, and it was then ripped off by canadian indie filmmakers.

Like 'And Then There Were None' familiar?

I kinda think it's like Shrooms. The way we're led to believe it's someone else. Also how they were stranded and didn't have cell phones.

Nah. I think a movie can have a "Similar" plot and maintain originality. I mean, I wouldn't want to see a movie that only has one plot while other movies don't have similar plots. I find that boring. I wouldn't want to watch a movie over and over and over again just because the plot is unique. I think other movies can have similar plot but have originality in it so I can see a totally different movie.

Here's the originality:

I still know what you did last summer:
+ Heroic boyfriend to save the day (or ex)
+ The Killers were related.
+ Both killers dead
+ Julie has nightmares
+ The killers didn't kill all the victims.
+ The twist isn't nearly at the end of the movie which turns out that he's the son and is helping his father kill.
+ The killer's son doesn't get away.
+ Julie and Ray were with 2 other friends when they dumped the body into the water.
+ No dog was involved to the point were the killers had an advantage to kill.
+ The killer doesn't play dead to have everybody scurry around.

Fear Island
+ The killers weren't related
+ The killer is related to the 2 victims Mark and Kyle.
+ There were cabins neighboring
+ There was a puzzle for the victims to solve.
+ There was a lot of crime investigation scenes against the "Supposed" Jenna.
+ The killer survives while one is dead.
+ The killer killed all the victims.
+ We find the twist nearly at the end of the movie. She acts traumatized, victimized and gets away.
+ Regina died accidental with a head wound which was caused by Mark. Kyle was involved in getting her into bed while the others weren't witnesses of her death.
+ The brothers buried Regina. There was no friends around when she was buried.
+ the movie had a plot for the dog in which had the victims scurry around looking for it and having them split up.
+ The killer plays dead to fool everybody so he can get his point across that there's something wrong going on.

similarities:
+Accidental death
+Revenge
+Twist
+Island
+Stranded
+Group of friends
+Two killers

Just wanted to add that if you took I stil know what you did last summer and stir of echoes and threw it in a blender, this movie comes out. The whole taking adavantage of a geeky girl and then killing her to cover it up has been done before. Yawn. Show me something new and original already! And for God's sake, put some decent looking actors in it. If I want to see a bunch of ordinary looking people, I'll just go through my every day life. Thank you very much... not directed as you Ashmore... you are cute. Everyone else - especially the girls... get off the tv screen and go back to your mediocre life because that's where your looks rank. Thanks.

reply

Me-ow.

I don't think the actors/actresses were unattractive, or even truly ordinary. But they weren't A-list either. It was a B-movie, basically.

this movie is also similar to "the Breed" 2006 only the killers are mutated dogs insted of human
