I watched the French original (spoilers)

As some of you may know, this movie is a remake of the 2004 French movie “Le Convoyeur”, which I watched the other day. The basic premise is the same, but there are significant differences:

- The protagonist is a regular guy whose young son was killed during an armed car robbery. He infiltrates the security company to try to track down the killers (as in the remake) but he is not a one-man army who is also the leader of a different gang of robbers. He does stop one robbery (committed by a different gang, not the one he's after), but more out of luck than by going all Jason Statham on the criminals.

- We don’t know anything about the gang of robbers. We don’t know their names and we don’t even see their faces, as they only appear during the robberies, with their masks on. There are no scenes of them socializing or planning the big heist.

- There is no confrontation after the final heist between the hero and the one robber who got away (and who was the killer). All the robbers die during the heist. The protagonist is injured and gets away, but dies soon after.

Yes. Both are very different film screenplay, characters, pacing. I watched the original years ago and if you watch both in succession, it would still be difficult to know Wrath is based upon Le Convoyeur.

Spoilers*****
I thought the primary weakness of the wrath of man was that Bullet would proceed to assist with the depot robbery knowing the near superhuman abilities of H. I know Bullet took H’s bullets but come on. The crew knew there would be weapons everywhere and Bullet has previously seen H in action and knew about H’s resourcefulness even when vastly outnumbered. The crew surely should have tried to ambush and dispatch H weeks in advance and then attempt the robbery without the risk of his presence. It sounds like the French original did not have this plot issue because the protagonist there was not a superhero like H in this remake

...or they could have just shot him in the back of the head when he was tied up, face down on the floor after they had used him to get in.

Only Eastwood was killing point blank, except in the end when also Bullet turns against his comrades (imo out of character, they were his friends, why killing them?). They had so many resources, why not just locking H in a safe space, maybe even the safe truck itself. I really don't understand how such a well planned platoon can't get that right.
