Incredibly sad that this DCAU is over but happy they made such a good final film!

This film was bad ass. They really did not care about doing what they wanted with the characters. The death toll is crazy and it is by far the most violent DC animated film so far.I absolutely loved it! However I am just sad that this version of the DCAU is done . I will miss that voice cast, I will particularly miss Damian who really was like he is in the comics. It's a great swan song but still a very sad one. That final shot really gave a very bittersweet farewell to all these characters we have followed for 15 or so films.

Honestly the new superman animated movie looks boring compared to this, wish they could have kept it going

It's weird how this series panned out better than the live action films. They couldn't have followed this kind of outline for the DCEU?

reply

I agree all the animated films together makes one coherent story. I wish people in charge of the animated division could give their input for the cinematic one.

reply

Right? Or hell, it can't be that hard to copy the cartoons into live action.

reply

The live action films were all great! I don't know what you sheep be talking about.

reply

Including the 'Martha' scene in BVS? Alrighty then...

reply

Wonder Woman and Shazam. That's what DC has done well live. The rest is garbage.

Their animated stuff is 90% fantastic. Better than MCU. Why is it over? What happened? (have not yet seen this JLAD)

I did like very much AquaMan and the first suicide squad from the DCEU

Actually there are only two films of the dCEU that didn’t like those were birds of Prey and Man of steel.

And I had faith in birds Of prey because I’ve praised dc since the beginning for their female cast and how they Nailed it with Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman and Mera.

I thought they got this girl power thing, they will break the course of female ensamble films not working on the big screen and big disappointment it turned out as bad as Charlie’s Angels oceans 8 and the female ghostbusters reboot.

I’m really sad it didn’t work for me because I love Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and I had huge expectations with her leading a movie

I think Gal Gadot and Margot Robbie are to the DCEU what RDJ and Chris Evans are for the MCU. I think that high of them that makes me wonder if they should be the leaders of a justice league movie but giving these two ladies a different character: Gal as Batwoman and Margot as Super girl and all the characters staying male.

I don’t want to change Batman and Superman with female characters because I believe in the SJW crap (actually that’s what made birds of prey fail ) but I want to that because I think these two actresses are the best thing that happened to the DCEU

Honestly, I liked this better than Endgame. It's one of the few DTV animated films that I wish was a half hour longer.

reply

Yes, I found it felt a bit rushed at times. Could definitely have done with another half hour.

I've really enjoyed this series of DC animated movies (some more than others, admittedly), and I loved Apokolips War, second only to Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay.

reply

Yeah, I loved their Suicide Squad movies. Not sure why the DCEU doesn't try hiring the writers behind their animated films.

reply

the DCAU has been absolute fire imo. of course there have been some misses but the highs have been incredibly high. love flashpoint, loves crisis, loved red son and this.

reply

Flashpoint is damn near perfect!

it makes me sad because these are perfectly laid out "avenger style" teamup movies that the DCEU could have worked to. all they had to do was make 4 or 5 decent solo films. and we could have gotten these amazing badass stories in live action.

oh well at least the animated films exist. ive only seen Dark onces maybe ill rewatch it on my day off tomorow.
