Seriously, film makers shouldn't assume their viewers to be even dumber than they are themselves - not that much dumber.
My friend and I watched that scene and counted how many rounds he fired...it's been a while since we watched it, but if I recall, it was about 130 rounds. lol
I know it's obvious, but they just kept looping the same footage of him over and over and over again. Firing at one group, turning and firing at the guy behind the dumpster, then just looping that footage over about 15 times.
