Anna didn't actually tell on Oakley, she just said she was in the car. So why didn't she tell that to them in the field? I don't understand that part.

I know what you mean. I got confused with this too. One moment her friend's berating her for not telling them about the accident when she finds out she was in the car. And then being dismissed later in the field when she apologised to the kids. I must have missed something.
shareThis is the kind of film that lets you imagine certain key scenes, without showing them. So after the conversation with V, where Anna admits to being in the car we assume she broke down and told her what happened. She did break her promise to Oakley. That explains the painful scene in the field when she is banished from the young crowd and finds herself in the middle, worse than at the beginning.
