Producer's 'cut up' Argento's vision?

I keep reading the producers took this movie out of Dario's hands, essentially messing up his "vision" as he (as well as star Adrien for not getting paid) is attempting to distance himself from this flick!

is it really that bad? Will we ever see Dario's vision?

I hate when producers think they know better then the actual filmmaker, there are a few exceptions, but seldom does it work for the benefit of the film!

What seemed to have changed significantly was the cast which originally included Ray Liotta as the detective and Vince Gallo as Yellow. Then later Brody became part of the project.

Wasn't Adrien listed as one of the producers and his girlfriend Elsa Pataky then played Celine in the film, he also demanded to play two roles before signing on. Perhaps he needs to take more responsibility for the financial outcome of the film since he had more influence on its form.

Anyhow I think the film is wonderful and hope he eventually gets paid...I don't think they paid Dario either!

By all the reports i've read from journalists and/or friends of Argento, most of the crew of GIALLO (Argento,Brody,Emmanuelle Seigner...) was not paid or underpaid (Frederic Fasano for example) and there was even a strike on the set for the crew to be paid!...so i guess that it was a very low budgeted film with a fast paced shooting (only 4-5 weeks)...Alan Jones also said that the film has been re-edited three times by the producers.

Given that this film was (slightly) better than any of his movies from the last 20 years, I'd suggest letting the producers tamper with his vision more often.
