echo, to expand on The Dakotanator's post, Cutlass is a 12 minute short film that was shot in three days, July 25-27, as part of a series of short films supported by Glamour magazine.
Dakota Fanning plays a girl who wants her Mom to buy her an expensive old guitar. Her financially strapped Mom, played by Virginia Madsen, kind of freaks out until she flashes back on her own teen years. Back then she (played by Kristen Stewart in the flashback) wanted an Olds Cutlass as her first car, which her Dad (played by Kurt Russell, I believe) helped her obtain.

I believe it will be on the Glamour website some time this month. It's going to be uploaded here I've gathered: http://www.glamalert.com/reelmoments/#Scene_3 then go 'watch the films' and then go into 'Cutlass' etc
shareThanks for posting that link, michjenk. I had been going to galmour.com -- I didn't realize that I needed to go to glamalert. I look forward to when they put the short films online. My only complaint is that they misspelled Kristen Stewart's first name as Kristin. Oh well, what can ya do?

And thanks again for the Clinique link, michjenk! I heard about Clinique's involvement as well as the October 15th online date on the Ellen DeGeneres show yesterday. Although I never watch it, I did catch yesterday's show once I read that Rita Wilson and Kate Hudson were to be guests on the show. Since they directed two of the three shorts (Kirsten Dunst directed the third) in this year's Reel Moments, I kinda figured that is what they'd be talking about.
They did show one clip -- it was from Cutlass and it was a scene where Kurt Russell tells his daughter, played by Kristen Stewart, that he will co-sign the loan for her car. He warns her that if she misses one payment that the car will be returned and also tells her that she must get a better price than $4,800.00. It was nicely done. I look forward to watching all twelve minutes of Cutlass on the 15th.

Thank you for the link to the story about where Kate got the Cutlass that was used in the movie. I knew she had purchased it (and drives it around sometimes) but enjoyed seeing the pictures from the movie set. I am so proud that she picked my story and made a short film about me and my Dad.
