SPOILERS FAIR WARNING Why,oh, why go with the Hollywood ending? SPOILERS

What had the potential of being something really really special "just" turned out as a very (remember that the term is relative) good mix of thriller, action and drama.

I'm not insisting Pyke should have "disappeared" the protagonists in some horrible manner and driven away whistling some jaunty tune preparing to pick up his twin from jail, but could he not at the very least have been allowed to survive, preferably still holding the cash?

I mean, the movie company churns out movies of this approximate budget all the time, so when you happen to be lucky enough to get a golden actor like Sean Bean aboard, why not take a chance?

Word of mouth is not to be taken lightly, and I bet the current pathetic gross would have quadrupled at the very least.

I don't really know the exact titles of the production/distribution company people who decide these things, but it seems to be a given that mental dwarfism and an almost pathological lack of artistic vision be an absolute requirement for getting hired to do it.

It seems to me the couple did not get a "typical Hollywood ending". First, Sean Bean's twin will show up looking for the money which will freak them out thinking Pyke is indestructible. Would they dare try to kill him again believing he'd be back with a vengeance?

Secondly, when Pyke's squished remains begin to stink up the collision junk yard and the police investigate the owner for murder, he'll point them to the couple that paid him.
