Just watched the film...

And it turned out to be really enjoyably great. Kurt Russell still steals the show as Santa Claus. Hope they make a third movie.

Just saw it last night. Like the first one, it was watchable but nothing special. If it hadn't been for Russell and Hawn it wouldn't have been worth the time. Both of them are great, and Hawn, in particular, was very likable in her role.

It seems that we so rarely get these kinds of traditional Christmas films anymore that even one that is merely "pretty good" seems like a treat.

Neither are classics, but both were good enough that I felt they were worth the time. And as you say, Kurt and Goldie really make the movie. Both are great and it was really nice to see them on screen together.

I thought it was pretty good, but not quite as enjoyable as the first. I would be on board for a third one. I would rate this one a 7/10.

I need to rewatch the first one because at this point it's really faded from memory, but at least from my recollection I think I'd agree: The first was a little more enjoyable than the second.

However, one major thing that the second has that the first lacks (apart from a very brief cameo) is Goldie Hawn. She's great!

I thought it was kind of an uneven film but overall enjoyable enough.

It was far more fantastical than the first movie and has a very different feel to it. I didn't care for the scenes in Cancun--tropical shit should NEVER make any appearance in a Christmas movie--and frankly I thought the boy was annoying. But on the positive side, I thought the writers did some interesting stuff with the lore of Santa Claus, the design of the North Pole was pretty cool, seeing Goldie on screen with Kurt was awesome, and Kurt is a great Santa.

I thought that both films were solidly good, but not great. However, they were both good enough that I'd be down to watch a third if they come up with a good story.

The first one was good, this one was bad and unnecessary.
