Rip off of Wise Girls?

In 2001, there was a movie called Wise Girls, starring Mira Sorvino, Mariah Carey and some one else. The synopsis is a woman in debt goes to work for the mob and then spends awhile trying to get out of it. There are some differences, like in this movie she has kids and it's based on a real person but...

no she wasn't...that wasn't the main main character. the main character was mira sorvino, who just a poor girl and went to work in that italian restaurant. I watched some of Wisegal last night and it was a bit different than Wise Girls.

How can a movie based on a real person be a ripoff of another movie? Seems both are ripping off that person's life. That said, unless this movie is telling the story of the same woman, there's no way one is a ripoff of another.

You're absolutely right!
But the 2 movies don't have much in common anyway: Wise Girls is about a girl who starts working as a waitress in a pizzeria where the mob is around and she tries to get rid of them.
Wisegal is about a woman who becomes a really high up member of the mob until she realizes that this was mistake.
