Remake/Inspired by Just My Luck

I generally don't like to claim movies as copies, especially before their release, but this movie seems to me as a remake/inspiration (or whatever you want to call it) of Lindsay Lohan's Just My Luck.

I haven't seen Just My Luck (nor Kismet Konnection), so this is all speculation. I heard someone else say that this was a copy of just my Luck, so I looked up the story on imdb and wikipedia. Apparently, both Just my Luck and Kismet Konnection have a fortune teller in the movie.

Of course, I could be wrong, as I don't like to judge before a movie has released. But come on now, how many original comedy love stories have you seen that have fortune tellers as one of the characters and have the word "luck" (or its translation) in the title.

Almost all of Aziz Mirza movies were inspired by English Movies (Yes Boss- For Love or Money, PBDHH- I love trouble and Switching channels, CC- Forget Paris and Saathiya) but for all those movies, he puts a different spin and changes the movies to suit the Indian setting, so the particular movie in the end becomes a totally different story...
I guess we just have to wait and see if it is a remake or not (i usually prefer remakes becoz sometimes the remakes are better than the original)

its a copy of "2 Weeks notice"

..or could it be a remade remix of Serendipity??

wow if u wanna hear about an exact copy of just my luck here it is..it's like the exact same storyline:

Vicky (Aryeman) is an aspiring singer, Saba {Sayali Bhagat) is a PR head in an ad agency. Success evades him at every step and success awaits her at every step. because she had the good luck charm sealed in her kiss. and one day at a party Saba kisses Vicky by mistake and says good bye to her good luck and his life changes for good. Tarun Chopra {Lucky Ali} a music baron signs ou Vicky and Vicky's draem comes true. And Saba is almost on the streets for she looses her job.Enters a tarot card reader {Archana Puran Singh} who tells Saba that she can get her good luck charm back if she kisses Vicky again. The catch was that Vicky was wearing a mask when she kissed him at the party. The search begins they meet and fall in love but she dosent know that Vicky is the boy who has the good luck charm. And the day she realises the truth she selfishly takes the kiss back leaving Vicky and his band to struggle for sucess again. They meet they part and the usuall happens. Love over-powers her selfishness and Saba wants to give the kiss back to Vicky and make his concert a grand sucess.
But whats a love story without hurdles? There are other contenders for the kiss. Apolice officer {Sharad Saxena} A jiglo {Ranveer Shorey} Saba's ruthless boss {Nazeen Patel} and the Tarot card reader herself.A hilirious chase begins as the good luck kiss shifts between Saba and Vicky and everyone trying to kiss them and land up kissing each other who gets the good luck charm finally in this chaotically funny kissing ? Our lips are sealed.

This movie's called "Good Luck"... why would they remake a movie that was a flop??? i mean "just my luck" didnt do too well in america...wat makes a person think it's going to do good in india? oh well just a thought...lets see wat happens

if it was flop then it wouldnt be popular..so they assume there content will be orignal for most of the viewers.. :D

well the thing is, movies are made (and viewed) differently in India and the U.S. First of all, if you made 2 nearly identical movies in both English and Hindi (changing the actors and all, and location, etc), one might go well while the other one flops because of differences between a western audience and an indian audience.
Just My Luck may have flopped here in the U.S., but the take on love stories is quite different in India.

Furthermore, hindi movies are made much differently than american movies. Songs for one, is a big factor in the initial success of the movie. Secondly, the target audience is totally different. In the U.S., there is usually a specified target audience (Kids, adults, horror lovers, emotional ones, action people, etc). In India, most movies target the general audience (pretty much everyone). Just My Luck was more of a kiddish movie in the U.S., and those movies generally don't do well, whereas Kismet Konnection is being marketed as a film for everybody (though slightly targetting the older youth (teens) with its stylish look).

Therefore, just because Just My Luck flopped in America, it does not mean it will do bad in India. It is, in my opinion, likely to do much better, considering love stories go well here, plus the style is totally different and a lot more admirable.

I saw 'Just my Luck'. It wasn't a very good movie.
'Kismet Connection's story might have been inspired from the plot of 'Just my Luck' but it seems also very different. I'm hoping it'll be much better than its "inspiration".

16 years on the street & you see a lot. But all the wrong sights, not the sights you want to see.

Apparently, its nothing like Just My Luck, except for the fortune teller aspect.

I didn't mind Just My Luck, but I do not think there is much similarity between this and that film.

That movie was about someone losing their luck to another then trying to gain it back.. this movie is more of a copy of "Two Weeks Notice" which i think was a very cute movie

I remember switching Just My Luck off after 30 mins.

"There. There."

I remember never seeing Just My Luck.
I also remember how Kismat Konnection was a pile of *beep* dialogue/ pathetic acting and boring songs. Nothing good about this film except for Juhi Chawla's small role.
