When was this filmed?

I was shocked at just how good this was.
My only question throughout was how old it was. All the cell phones, cars, appliances suggest a late 90's/early 2000's film but it was released in 2008.

It was probably filmed in 2006-2007. It's because it's in Canada.

What gets me is, Rachel Blanchard was 32 when this movie came out, but still pulled off being a teenager.

Wild, eh?
