Did this remind anyone else a little of Chocolat?
I love both movies. :D It was just similar enough to Chocolat to be nostalgic... wrong word? But not too much that it seemed like a copy.
Yeah, it did! My dad asked me what I was watching. I told him "the New Age version of "Chocolat"".
Then he wanted to watch some stupid movie he'd rented. So I've seen about half an hour of it. Dang it!

Yes. Part way into this movie I turned to my wife and said, "This reminds me a lot of Chocolat." Very similar themes with some key differences.

I can see how Vianne and Cassie would share some characteristics. They're both outsiders, but they continue to be sweet and lovely no matter how much opposition they face. They're both healers, to some degree. The overall feel of The Good Witch is like a pleasant mixture of Chocolat and Practical Magic. Since those are two of my favorite books as well as movies, I guess that would explain my newly found fascination for The Good Witch.

I also thought they were very similar. There's another film, Mistress of Spices (starring Aishwarya Rai) which is based on a book that came out before Chocolat, and all of them are based on the same sort of story but told in different ways.
