coming to u.s.?

recently saw this show while on a trip to canada. it was the std episode and, quite possibly, one of the funniest things i have seen in a while. any chance this could cross the border and broadcast over here in the states? i figure a basic cable airing is out of the question, but would anyone happen to know if one of the premium stations, such as hbo or showtime, could be picking this up? if not, is it available on dvd yet?

reply

i doubt it will get picked up by a premium station, but these shows usually come to dvd in Canada eventually

It's pretty much being made to be shown in the US as far as I can tell from watching it. There are virtually no indications that the show is Canadian. The only thing that gives it away is Mr. Dore's tat.

I don't know what you think the "indications that the show is Canadian" would be. It takes place in Toronto--what else were you expecting?

reply

WEll I'm pretty sure the Comedy network in Canada has some ties with Comedy Central. So maybe you guys will get lucky and it'll air one day at 3 in the morning over there. much ike Kenny vs. Spenny did on wtv network you guys have them on

reply

i can only hope....any news circulating up there about a possible dvd release?

reply

hopefully we'll see. it would be nice because i slightly got into this show myself. very very funny.

shows like Kenny vs Spenny successfully made it to Comedy Central when they were airing season 4, but I don't think Trailer Park Boys never really saw the light of day making it to US networks, and that show is HUGE in Canada.

I hope this show becomes big hit in the U.S., I'm proud that Canada made a show this funny, and it's filmed right around the area of my work and apartment here in downtown Toronto!

This show is up there with like Stella and Kids in the Hall.

He deserves this succes especially when compared to some of the other shows Comedy Central shows over there like that "Interesting Things with Dimitri Martin"?? that guy can be funny but his show is terrible! Oh yeah and "Mind of Mencia"? I truly hope that show is cancelled, and Mencia is dead or something right now...how are those programs popular?

anyway go Jon Dore! you can doo it!
