The detective had already dreamed a similar scene of a woman in a theatre. I think he associated the child's painting with the loss of his wife who died in the Twin Towers. There was a flashbank to when he was a NY policeman and she telephones saying she and five others were trapped on the 50th floor. Right after that his police radio said the tower had collapsed.
