Why did Misty disable the flight recorder?

At the end of episode 2 Misty finds the flight recorder box and smashes it, pulls some wires out of it. The light stops blinking, and I assume this disables any rescue beacon signal it might be sending out.

B/c she has power there that she wishes she had back home. She likes her new role as savior. If they're found, she goes back to being on the sidelines.

With today's narcissism and attention seeking whores, this would be a very believable scenario. Too many crazies. But to think that a soccer team that was like that... I dunno. Was she a leader of sort in the team or even a good player?

reply

No, she was the nerdy girl, the equipment manager, the kid who keeps score b/c they're not good enough to play.

The black box was already smashed and disabled. She was angry and frustrated. It was 3 days after the crash. If the box were working, they would have been rescued by then.

reply

Wrong. She overhears the other girls talking about how she saved them, finds the box, destroys it. She doesn't want them to be found b/c she'll go back to her old standing. She's not angry, but rather happy in her elevated role in this new environment. If you like this show so much, I'd think you'd pay attention.

reply

No offense but I don't know how anyone can interpret that so wrong.

The red light was flashing. Those things are designed to work after an aircrash, but don't always have a locator.
