Bad special effects and even worse dialogue.

I never thought I would hear the phrase 'hair-brained plan' in this movie. I just about walked over to the dvd player and hit the eject button after that. And what is up with the stop motion minotaur and scorpion? Wow. Just wow. I mean, if I made the movie, I'd say it was pretty good, but I didn't, so it's inexcusible to allow that crap to pass through the editing department. It's like they went with the first layeror second layer of graphics because they ran out of money to put in any filtering, mapping, skin, lighting and smooth out the frame rate. What an amatuer rookie movie this was.

The minotaur wasn't stop-motion, it was the combo of a live-action costumed actor and a few CGI shots, notably involving its tail. The scorpion-Sargon, yeah, that could've been handled better. I mean, an invisible scorpion, that really did seem like the cheapest way to pull off a visual effect in the film; not to mention the oil-covered version looks like a Playstation video-game graphic. Nonetheless, I've found myself enjoying the movie, call it a guilty pleasure.

Any Buffyverse comic that's post-"Not Fade Away" is non-canon, my PoV says.

I know it wasn't stop motion, but it LOOKED like stop motion. The framerate for their animation was so bad, it reminded me of Luke's tauntaun running across the frozen drifts of Hoth. You almost have to do that on purpose to pull that off. I'm no animation expert, but I've read enough and seen enough about how the process is supposed to work and what the end result should look like.
