This film was stunning!

The story was fascinating and compelling and very well told. Robert Pattison was surprisingly good as the mad genius, Dali. Javier Beltrán was perfect as the tortured poet, Federico García Lorca. Sensitive portrayals from everyone. I really enjoyed it.

I agree with you completely. A fascinating story made into a stunning film with great acting by Javier and Robert. I have watched the DVD so many times I must be wearing it out LOL.

I have just randomly watched this and was pleasantly surprised. I thought the acting from all was superb and was lovely to watch. I shall certainly view again!

I adored this movie so much, and the scenary, that I visited there this past week. It is so incredibly stunning, that if I had known just how gorgeous, I would have skipped Tuscany and just stayed in Barcelona and north in Dali's home. [And I love Tuscany..] His house in Cadaquez was so lovely.

The area was so beautiful thaton my last day there, the water was so inviting (near what I think was one of the Cove's in the movie) that I swam to the little island across the bay (Port Lligat--- where he rowed and swam with Lorca) in my clothes-- the water was gorgeous blue, not that deep, and that beach looked so nice on that island... (had change of clothes in car!)

I highly recommend visiting Cadaquez and the whole Cap de Creus peninsula. The food is wonderful around there, too.

YOu lucky thing! I'd love to visit Cadaquez and see the place where Salvador and Federico spent happy times together. I'd also love to visit Barcelona - I've got them both on my travel wish list. :)

Hi VA Girl - did you go to Figures and visit the Dali Museum there? It is really well worth while going to see Dali's work. And I am so sorry we didn't get to Cadaques or Port Lligat- only went as far as Roses - well the weather was terrible. I suppose it has to rain sometimes in Spain!

Wonderful film, very well cast with superb performances, especially from Pattinson, Beltrán and McNulty.

Lorca was beautifully portrayed by Javier...sensitive, fierce in his convictions, passionate...raw, as Dali described him perfectly.

It's an excellent story that follows Lorca more so than Dali...as Lorca traverses the emotional sea of attraction, passion, betrayal, depression, and recovery. His final meeting with Dali is telling...Lorca is no longer under the spell and the shoe is on the other foot as it frustrates Dali immsensely.

In the end, Lorca stands on his own.

I agree - Javier gave a beautiful, sensitive portrayal of Lorca and one that made a deep impression on me.
