What happened on the roof?

... the scene where they are about to have sex.

I couldnt really make it out.

One minute they're fine - the next Dali is crying and clutching his knee, and the other guy is apologising. I found it rather confusing as to what exactly this scene was supposed to be portraying.

Was it that he didn't want to be penetrated by him or was there an actual knee injury somewhere in there?

Dali wrote somewhere later in life that Lorca had tried to penetrate him (twice?) but it hurt, so I guess that was the idea behind that scene.

Also, I think the problem was perhaps more than just physical discomfort-- he had a lot of psychological hangups about sex in general.
