The brief disturbing image is a woman's eyeball being sliced open with a blade. They used a real eye (a calf's I think).Don't know how disturbing it is as I ducked my head to avoid watching it lol. Sorry!

i unfortunately did not shut my eyes in time and saw it... it is very disturbing... even if it was fake, it looks very real. But I don't like anything graphic like that the slight hint of blood and I get disturbed, so it may not be as disturbing to others as it was to me.

Its the famous shot of the eye being sliced in Un Chien Andalou, Luís Buñuel's famous film from the late twenties. If you read about this movie, you know he is a character portrayed, and Dalí collaborated with him on that movie.
And if you really want to know, it wasn't a real person's eye, it was a calf or a sheep's eyeball.

Anyone who knows anything about Luís Buñuel, who is one of the people this movie is about, knows that his best known film is the one he did with Dalí. That shot of the sliced eye is not only its most enduring image but one of the most shocking(if the THE MOST shocking) from any film before or since.
I can obviously tell none of you know nothing of it. So go back to the twilight board.

Um...neither of them commented on why that scene was in the movie--all they were doing was answering the OP's question in regard to what the "brief disturbing image" labeled in the rating was, which just so happens to be that scene from Bunuel's film.

I quite like being thought of as a 14 year old - although I am nearer to three times that age. But I guess, when this person is trying to act superior, they need to assume a lot in order to form some semblance of an argument?

Um, I was pretty disturbed by seeing Pattinson's mangina. It was pretty brief, but still...oy gevalt. I mean, didn't we all kind of expect FULL frontal? it's half of why i bothered to go in the first place. Ok, maybe more than half.

I thought that the stabbing of the bull, or the bear head was more disturbing. They're brief though, and the bear head was in the background. I've only watched it once so far, and those two brief details of the movie were all that I didn't like.

it was possible the most disgusting and horrific thing i've ever seen and that includes cutting open a pigs fetus and seeing a cows eye being sliced open before. the thoughts and feelings of those images came back after watching it.

erm, whats with the twilight bashing on this thread!?! i'm 25 and like twilight (the books and the film). there's nothing wrong with enjoying a film or a book, and just because some people don't like it, that doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with the people that do. And if someone does like a particular film/book, that doesn't mean you should sterotype them as a teenage girl with a crush. As well as myself, my friend and her husband (who are both also 25) and my friends mom (who is in her 30's) also really enjoyed the twilight books and the film. and please don't try to lump me in with teenage girls with a crush, as it just won't work, my other favourite films are interview with the vampire, and baseketball, so i'm really not easy to stereotype! anyway, all i wanted to do was find out from this thread what the 'disturbing image' was in this film, and it seems we've all been slightly sidetracked, but thanks for answering my question :0)
For me it was when Robert (Dali) kisses the other dude OMG it's so wrong not the fact that he is gay just the fact that Robert kisses another guy its like nooooooooo...
