23 year old demolition expert?

Just out of curiosity, how likely is it the company she worked for would send a 23 year old out to do a job by herself? Reminds me of Stealth where Jessica Biel played a 23 year old fighter pilot.

I guess Dakota Fanning will be playing an astronaut next? And Zac Efron will be playing a 5 star general in the same movie?

She was twenty-five, not twenty-three - the age is brought up a couple of times. Jimmy's mother asks her I think how old she is and she says twenty-five, and Sam's father also says "You're twenty-five now" in the beginning of the movie.

A twenty-five year old professional isn't all that odd - especially for an Engineer.

Her father owned the company and most likely new how competant she was at the job which is why she was sent alone. She also had her boyfriend there with her a few days later (which the father probably knew).

Her father owns the company and was about to make her a partner, she must be good at what she does. Aaaaaaand she's only going to a simple residential structure to look over blueprints, compare them against the actual structure and mark demolition points to make 'er fall down. I agree that, given the "middle of nowhere" location she should have brought someone along so she wasn't totally alone but keep in mind it's just looking over an old apartment complex, not a steel mill or block of stores. It should have just been a nothing situation to send one person alone.

even at 23, she would still have time to earn a B.S. degree(4yrs) and 2+ years of in-the-field experience if she entered college right after graduating high school @ 17...

reply

Yep, 17 plus 4 is 21, couple of years of grad school is 23, couple of years experience is.... ummmm. 25!
Besides, when dad owns the company, the standards don't need to be as strict, as long as he knows she won't blow herself up.

I had a classmate who graduated from HS at 16, got his BS at 19, his MS at 20, and his PH.D. at 22! So you never can tell. (Another officemate got 5 bachelor degrees in 3 years, but he we unusual. LOL.)

Did you watch the movie? I wouldn't say the chick seemed all that bright and she definitely wasn't a genius.
