Thumb Drive

I'm now working in a job that has me on the road ALL.THE.TIME. At home, even though I own Leverage on DVD (in fact, I love it so damn much, I bought a second copy of the entire series to keep at the one house I stay at most often besides my own!), I also DVR it every time it comes on. Then, no matter what TV I'm watching, I can select a Leverage episode any time I want! Yay! :D

But now that I'm over the road, I was thinking of loading it onto my computer, so I don't have to take my discs with me, or stream it. But I recently checked my computer space, and I'm about half full. I'm nervous that the series would take up too much room. So I thought about buying a thumb drive to load them onto... any idea what kind of room the series would take up, compressed or otherwise?

Thanks!

The 'hour' tv episodes I've got in MP4 format average around 400 MB. With 77 episodes of Leverage, that makes 51 GB. The thing is, access tends to slow down as USB drives get larger. You would probably be better off with a pair of 32GB drives than a 64GB.

Then again, these numbers come from downloading the episodes, the numbers could be different. Why not just try it with one episode and see how much space it takes then multiply.

Depending on your DVR, you may be able to watch it on a device. I think there are some models of TiVo where you can link a mobile device (phone/tablet/laptop) to the DVR. Anything that's on your TiVo can be watched on the mobile device. I don't know what streaming services you have, but it's worth checking them to see if it's available for now.
