Do you ever feel like?...

Sometimes there are a few directors who every so many years all the critics have to rave about, despite how good the film is...don't get me wrong, I think Soderbergh is one of the best modern American directors today...but no director is completely flawless...you get some of the familiar Soderbergh techniques here, but everything just doesn't come together...it was directed about as best as it could be, but the script was so shoddy it was worse than soap opera bad...it was boring, which is even worse...the movie had a lot going for it, it looked promising but it never quite delivers...if u want enthralling drama with gripping visuals, see "Traffic"-if u want the nitty gritty very raw and authentic feel of his art, see "Bubble"...this movie was middle of the road in all his traits and ended up not being great on any of the scales...5/10 for me, it really seemed like the critics just deemed 2009 a hail Soderbergh year...I know it very diffcult to remain impartial once u become a fan of someone's work, but the 100 ratings on metacritic? the 4 stars by Roger Ebert? nah, not even close...average and disappointing for true Soderbergh fans...
