Disappointed? Maybe...

I have to say I was disappointed with the show. I definitely thought that there would be more to it. Maybe, the next one will be better. I am going to give it one more chance. What it needs...more character development, there were so many characters, that extremely intamate/emotional stuff happened too but I don't think the audience (I) had a chance to get to know enough to care about them. Any other show (CSI, Law and Order, etc.) would have left me in tears. When the bad stuff happened I could only think- huh? That it? It was like everything and nothing happened. Too much and too little. I hope they can get it together because it has potential...but seeing the preview of the next episode I am doubtfull. I have replayed it in my mind a little but, the way I would have done it and think It Could Work! I would share but, I don't want to spoil it as there are people who haven't seen it.

I disagree. I was surprisingly moved by the end of the pilot episode. How could you not care about Mick? He was trying to right the wrongs in his life (reconcile with his wife, maintain a relationship with his kids) and at the same time deal with his addictions and help others deal with their own.

I thought it was a very good first episode. Sure, it had it's flaws (mainly with the young actors, in my opinion). Other than that, it was very good.

I agree with the poster, mostly. The MAJORITY of the character interactions felt underdeveloped. The one you mentioned is one of two I would say didnt feel so. (Brett and Esteban seemed fairly solid). There were moments that were good, but not enough of them imo. It shows promise. That means it COULD become a good show, but it still needs some work.
