A&E Network has canceled "The Cleaner."

The cable network has opted not to renew the drama series toplined by Benjamin Bratt for a third season.

The show's 13-episode second season concluded earlier this month.

"The Cleaner," starring Bratt as a real-life extreme interventionist, marked A&E's first scripted series in more than six years when it debuted in July 2008.

No one to blame but the writers. From mysterious disappearances to long, drawn-out, yawnworthy storylines with no real advancement (William's homelife), accompanied with no good interaction between William and the team like in S1, it drove off viewers. I know I didn't make it past the 3rd ep.

*sigh* I'm so very disappointed. I haven't been this disappointed since NBC murdered "Journeyman" a few seasons ago. I loved The Cleaner. Usually, Benjamin Bratt is a little difficult for me to watch... but he slipped into the role of William Banks like a pair of soft, well worn Levi's, and he wore it well. Very sad this got axed. I really liked watching him, and the storyline was getting even better... there was hope for his marriage in that last episode.

I guess now we'll never know. :( Thanks a LOT, A&E. Jerks.

This is the exact reason I hate to invest my time in a new series because the stupid networks don't give them ample time to develop. This series will be missed!

I agree with you Spiritus. I was VERY disappointed when this was canceled. This show was really cool and I loved it. I thought the plot was really engaging and I was captivated by the characters. Benjamin Bratt was really remarkable as William Banks. I used to plan my entire Tuesdays around it.

I was enjoying Season 3. And I will miss it.

I venture to say that this type of show would do well on another network with more viewership.

It's perfect from a production standpoint, because it is relatively cheap to make and puts out quality drama to entertain viewers.

My first instinct, of course is on a paid-cable channel like HBO or Showtime . . . but even on a regular cable channel like TNT, AMC or USA would be a good fit for this.

I think this has to be the stupidest decision (forgive the wording), but it fits.

This was one of the most interesting tv shows I ever watched. I learned all about street drugs and how it affects everyone concerned. i enjoyed it very much and I am truly sorry to see it cancelled.

Attention A&E SHAME ON YOU!!!
That's all I have to say

That was a big mistake - this show was amazing. It had its flaws, agreed, but overall I was hooked from Episode 1. Shame on you, A&E! :=(
